About Calgary Dollars (C$)

Calgary Dollars is a local currency organization, and a project of the Arusha Centre, a non-profit development education organization. Calgary Dollars brings together local talents and resources to strengthen our local economy and build community.

By joining Calgary Dollars, you can:

·        Enhance personal or professional quality of life,

·        Save cash for business services,

·        Promote your business in another marketing venue,

·        Access graphic design, website development; resolve computer technical problems, add/or improve database management,

·        Increase business exposure through our advertising,

·        Network with other organizations and small businesses,

·        Create awareness of alternative types of commerce

Calgary Dollars has a local currency called the Calgary Dollar (paper money) valued at $1 Canadian. This currency allows you to buy and sell your goods and services to other Calgary Dollars members.

How does it work?

·        Decide on what you will offer in services or goods.

·        Determine the amount or % you will accept in C$. Eg. Accept 50% C$ - so half CND half C$.

·        Log on to our listings website at http://listings.calgarydollars.ca/

·        List your services, products, goods etc. up to 5 ads in our classifieds online.

·        Attend monthly Potlucks to network make transactions and spend your C$.
